I wanted to write here to acknowledge my experience at the Physiotherapy Department at Crosshouse Hospital, this was my first time after being referred by my GP for a condition called Lipoedaema.
I would just like to say I had a very positive experience with the physiotherapist, Connie. She listened to my experience of the last few years, waiting for this to be diagnosed along with various other health issues I have had. She took a full history and never once did I feel I was being judged or frowned upon, she was open and honest with me, but I did not feel like I was wasting her time and she listened whilst I spoke and told her exactly how I have been feeling physically, mentally about being in chronic pain. I wish there were more healthcare professionals like her.
I work in the healthcare profession myself, and there is so much bad press about how far our services are stretched, and they are. Most people are doing their very best in what has been very unprecedented times over the last few years. Having worked through the pandemic myself, if someone just lets someone know they are doing a good job that in itself will keep that person striving to do their very best every day in very difficult circumstances.
So again, thank you Connie for yesterday, you certainly made me feel like it was OK not to be fully OK with everything that I have endured in the last year with all my various medical issues.
