"The Understanding and Empathetic Menopause Clinic"

Just wanted to thank the lovely doctors (and the telephone triage nurse) at the Sandyford for making a bad time a whole lot better. Having struggled to get help from my GP with horrendous hot flushes which were stopping me sleeping I self-referred to the Sandyford. My GP was very reluctant to prescribe HRT despite me being very low risk, offering instead a variety of other medications that I was reluctant to take. The docs at the Sandyford could not have been more understanding and gave me a full explanation of everything including the risks and benefits of HRT and got me started on it. Life has totally transformed and I can sleep again! I have just been discharged from their service but as someone who works as a consultant in another branch of healthcare I just wanted to say thank you for being understanding, empathetic and telling me about your own experiences which helped a lot. We hear a lot about puberty but nobody tells you about the menopause, we probably need to talk about it more. Well done to the Sandyford for providing this great service.
