About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Lothian Birth Centre

I had the best experience at the ERI birthing centre for the birth of my second child. The midwife-led team opened a room in the birthing centre for me and I had two midwives with me for the duration of the delivery. I was able to use the birthing pool and the midwives were fantastic - talking through my birth plan with me and making sure I was supported throughout. I feel incredibly privileged to have received such good care. The team also helped me to get home to my toddler the same day, equipped with all of the follow up health care that I needed. I feel very grateful to the whole team in the centre who looked after me.

It's so wonderful to hear about your positive experience at the ERI Birthing Centre! It sounds like the midwifery team truly made you feel supported and respected throughout the entire process. Having two midwives by your side and the option to use the birthing pool must have been so reassuring, and it's great that they took the time to go over your birth plan to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible.

It must have been such a relief to get home to your toddler the same day with all the necessary follow-up care in place. The care and attention you received from the team clearly made a huge difference in your experience, and it’s heartwarming to hear how grateful you are for their support.
