"Made a difficult journey so much easier"

About: Community Midwives / Community Midwifery Lowen (Camborne & Redruth)

(as the patient),

I can't not provide feedback about my Community Midwife, Lou. What a woman, I feel so lucky that Lou was my allocated Midwife throughout my pregnancy. I'm so pleased that Cornwall offers a service where you have the same Midwife throughout your whole pregnancy. There really is something to be said for that consistent care and regular friendly face.

I clicked with Lou from my first appointment!

My pregnancy was challenging, due to unpredictable and unexplained blackouts and seizures. Lou was constantly reassuring, supportive and checking in, even on her days off, she would reply to queries efficiently and professionally. Again, she didn't have to, but I feel Lou checked in more than she had to after my birth; seeing how I was getting on with feeding and healing etc. You can't teach people to have that level of empathy, you have it or you don't, and Lou 100% tops it.

I don't plan on having another baby anytime soon, but when I do, I'll be chasing Lou down and begging her to be my midwife again, if she's available! Thank you so much, you made a difficult journey so much easier, for that I'm forever grateful x
