"The staff have treated me very well"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I recently came to Cloughreagh House and I had no idea what I was coming to, I actually thought I was going to a nursing home but I had no choice as I was not able to go home after my fall. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful facility for rehabilitation and I have made great progress in my time here. I love the staff, they have treated me very well and are very helpful to me .

I have also enjoyed the companionship in the dining room and at night watching television in the Open Lounge.  I will miss the company when I go home as I live on my own.

The food is good, plentiful, and if you don't like what is on the menu they will make you something else.

My room is lovely, plenty of space for me and I really appreciated the privacy of having my own bedroom.

My one criticism is that I was in a lot of pain when I first came in and I needed my pain relief reviewed. The staff did contact my GP but it was a couple of days before my pain relief was increased. I struggled with this as I was used to contacting a doctor and getting medication reviewed very quickly in the hospital.

Overall Cloughreagh House was  the correct route for me out of hospital, I think this is a great service and will make a big difference to many people coming out of hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent stay in Cloughreagh House. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and that it was such a positive experience for you.

Staff are continually striving to make it better known about the excellent rehabilitation service available in both Cloughreagh House and the other Statutory Residential Homes. The service does support people on discharge from hospital and helps promote recovery and return to previous ability.

Thank you for your comments on the social aspect of the service, we feel it is an important element of recovery, improves mood and is also beneficial to the well being of our service users.

I will share your feedback with the team and I would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Cloughreagh team to thank you again for telling us about your experience and to wish you well in your ongoing recovery.

Regards

Stephanie Campbell
