"They were a lifeline"

About: Specialist Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services / Older Adult Community Mental Health Team – Wyre Forest

(as a relative),

My father's mental health assessment.

We suspected my father had developed dementia over the previous two years.  The family were looking after him at home, his 92 year old wife, assisted by myself and brother in the end. This situation was not sustainable, lots of falls occurring, we knew we had to get assistance quickly, as with no POA, we could not access a care home for him.

Wyre Forest Older Adult Community Health Team were a lifeline to us. JG met with Dad and the family, she gave us reassurance we desperately needed, always throughout did what she said she would do, was compassionate and approachable.  Also provided very useful booklet regarding mental health.  Follow up was efficient also.  I am so grateful to JG.
