"Lack of communication"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology

(as a relative),

My husband  was transferred from RAH to Golden Jubilee. It was our understanding he was to be returned to RAH. Not so.

We do not drive, it cost £56 to visit him.

The all over communication with nursing staff was poor from day one.

My husband has a procedure, and I am still waiting on being told what was done and now a nurse mentioned at one stage he had heart failure, nothing else said about that, worries me no end.

I already suffer anxiety but lack of info has not helped it.

I would like to highlight the lovely Clarkess on the ward who was so helpful.

Yes staff are busy, but manners cost nothing. I question the fact if they would like not to be kept updated on their loved one I think not.

The food was impressive what I witnessed.  Except one day when the  heater for hot meals broke . Sandwiches  and pudding,  quiche and cake . Proper poor no afternoon hot drink. No Apology.

Yet in all time I visited to be spoken to by a nurse.

I felt when I was going to speak there was a sign on public reception area on ward 2east stated ward meeting in progress do not disturb.

Wrong place for that public area .

The single room nursing I appreciate staff are busy but one of the days my husband saw a nurse at 7.30am, next time one set foot in room was approx 2pm

That totally unacceptable.

Member of staff came in did blood pressure.

Hospital is spotless but fails in its communication with families in our case.
