"Vaccination at home"

About: District Nursing / Cityside, Derry/Londonderry

(as a relative),

My husband - who has mobility and medical issues - was given the opportunity to have his COVID and Flu vaccine at home.

We received a phone call to arrange a nurse to call to our home, Laura arrived and immediately introduced herself to myself and my husband. She explained in detail what was about to happen and then proceeded to ask relevant questions.

Having sanitized her hands and prepared the injections, she administered in each arm explaining which vaccine was given and to which arm. Throughout the procedure she gave information regarding any possible side effects what to do and who to contact. Having had the vaccines before, he felt no pain as she administered them both and now happy in the knowledge he has protected himself in the future.

We said goodbye to Laura having gained knowledge and reassurance from a very kind and professional nurse.

Dear Masterclass, thank you for responding to your husbands experience of receiving his vaccines at home. I have shared them with Laura and she was delighted that you took the time to acknowledge your care and treatment. The team continue to deliver the vaccines to those in community to offer protection and its great to hear that you and your husband felt reassured by Laura's professionalism and care.

Kind regards

Marion Curran
