Good morning everyone...let me introduce myself. My name is Joe McCrea and I'm the Head of Engagement at Tameside Hospital. I'm leading the largest listening exercise in the history of the Trust. It's called Tameside Listens.
Let me tell you a little bit about it.
Tameside Listens is the biggest listening exercise in Tameside Hospital’s history. It gives staff, patients, stakeholders and local people a big say in our ambitious strategy to deliver excellence, quality and compassionate care. T
Beginning on 1st August 2013 and taking place over a six month period, it will report back publicly and openly to everyone involved.
We're asking local people, staff, patients and stakeholders to tell us exactly how we're doing and how we can improve things.
They can let us have their details if they’d like us to respond to them or – if they prefer – they can remain anonymous.
There are 8 strands to Tameside Listens – each asking a fundamental question.
1. Supporting and Developing People
How does Tameside inspire, attract, support and develop its staff and people to deliver world-beating standards of compassionate care and quality?
2. Promoting Compassion and Care
How does Tameside ensure that compassionate care is placed centre-stage in the way patients and their families are looked after?
3. Listening and Responding
How does Tameside ensure it listens and responds to concerns, advice and suggestions for improvement from all its stakeholders and local people – and is seen to do so?
4. Ensuring Safety
How does Tameside ensure that patient and staff safety is maximised and protected?
5. Pursuing Excellence
How can Tameside best pursue and achieve excellence and achievement in all its clinical care and outcomes?
6. Performing Brilliantly
How does Tameside ensure its performance matches those of the best and is seen to do so?
7. Delivering Quality
How does Tameside develop its financial, leadership and delivery capacity to ensure the vision is achieved?
8. Working in Partnership
How does Tameside develop and maximise its partnerships and mutual support with local stakeholders and representatives, organisations, health and social care partners, patient groups and the voluntary sector?
We want to hear ideas and responses from as many people as possible, to as many of those questions as they like.
And, of course, Patient Opinion is an ideal way for you to give us your ideas and comments on any or all of those questions. We're working closely with the guys and gals at Patient Opinion to make sure we maximise its role in Tameside Listens - watch this space for regular updates.
And give us your views and ideas! They will all be listened to and they'll all be seen by the senior management team here at Tameside Hospital.
Many thanks for reading this. Feel free to contact me via Patient Opinion if you have any questions.
