Went to get my bloods done for the third time in a month due to other nurses being unable to find a vein or the lab having issues with the samples provided. It’s something I absolutely dread as I have to get a double appointment and I’m in for around twenty minutes with multiple people having a go at finding a vein.

I know it’s not their fault as my veins are obviously difficult to find and have had this for years as I sometimes have to get an ultrasound to see the veins. I was back and was met by Mary for the first time. She was so welcoming, and took her time to fully check options, and for the first time in maybe five plus years of getting bloods on a regular occurrence (t1 diabetic) she filled the vials fully on her very first needle.

I cannot thank her enough for being not only exceptional at her job, but making what is usually a horrible experience, one which was pain free and super quick. I’m so grateful for her knowledge as it’s made me a little less apprehensive about my next round of bloods knowing it is possible if the care is taken.
