"All of them were an absolute credit"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a relative),

I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff that attended to my Mum after she suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday night.

They tried their best, but unfortunately it was too late for my Mum.

All of the staff were professional, caring and thoughtful. Everything was explained thoroughly to myself and my family in a manner that was easy to understand what was happening and why. They liased with the PSNI officers on scene and the care home staff ensuring everything that could and should be done, was done.

The whole thing was a massive shock to myself and although staff did introduce themselves, I must apologise as I cannot remember the names they gave, except one who I think was called Lee?

All of them were an absolute credit to NIAS and their profession!

I would like them all to know how much they made the most horrific moment in my life so much easier with their kindness and care, they truly are amazing!

Good afternoon TangoFD,

My name is Maggie Hamilton, I am the Experience and Involvement officer with Northern Ireland Ambulance service. I would like to express my sincerest condolences for the loss of your mum. I can only imagine how painful this time must be for you and your loved ones. I am very grateful and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us, especially when it has been so recent and you have lost your mum.

It was heartening to hear how professional, caring and thoughtful staff were and that everything was explained thoroughly to yourself and your family in a manner that was easy to understand what was happening and why. As an organisation we are committed to consistently show compassion, professionalism, and respect for the patients we care for and their families.

I would like to share your very kind words with the clinicians who attended to your mum on the day and in order to locate them I would require the following information:

Date and approximate time The address the ambulance was dispatched to

If you are happy to share this information and only when you are ready, I can be contacted at: Maggie.hamilton@nias.hscni.net or 07769684627

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I hope you are able to take the time you need to be with loved ones and find comfort in their support.

Warm regards,

Maggie
