"A difficult time made easier"

About: Gynaecology / Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic Gynaecology / Gynaecology & Early Pregnancy Inpatients (Ward 36) Gynaecology / Gynaecology Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I had attended a private early pregnancy scan to be told there was no heartbeat and would be contacted by Ninewells regarding next steps. I was contacted the same day by the early pregnancy assessment clinic who were very supportive and an appointment was made for the following week to monitor for any changes. Sadly the following weeks scan confirmed bad news but midwife Buttercup was so supportive and kind to myself & fiancé the times we met her. Buttercup made an awful time much easier and is amazing at her job. Going through with the treatment, I felt in safe hands with EPAC phoning at the agreed time and contacted me quickly when I left a voicemail and had concerns. My chosen treatment sadly didn’t work and I was quickly brought in to be rescanned and go over next steps with midwife (think her name was Kate, blonde hair) who was also lovely and supportive. The care was excellent and I was anxious about going to another area.

I was brought in for treatment in GAU and my nurse Rebecca and the healthcare assistants Leigh & Donna were very kind and nothing was too much bother for them.

Out of hours, I had to phone ward 36 who were very helpful. I was advised to come in and was seen promptly by the reg (I think her name was Barbara) who was one of the best doctors I have came across. I felt in such safe hands being looked after by her and when I was admitted a few days later and reviewed by her again it was a relief. Reg Lauren and junior reg were also very supportive during my treatment.

Everyone I came across were lovely and the ability to phone EPAC/GAU/ ward 36 directly instead of my GP/ A&E was so helpful and made me feel much less stressed knowing I could be seen so quickly and by specialised staff. Thank you everyone x
