"We felt isolated due to the lack of updates"

I attended the MAS assessment for my wife after an eight-week wait from the referral, which caused us significant distress, and started to affect our daily activities. During the assessment, the nurse was reassuring and explained that she sees around seven patients weekly, highlighting the delays often seen in the NHS. We just had our CT scan yesterday, meaning we faced a lot of waiting in between appointments. We felt isolated due to the lack of updates from the referral process, and although we were told to expect an appointment in 3 to 4 weeks, it ultimately took eight weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am sorry to hear you had a longer than anticipated wait time however glad to hear your care at the appointment was positive. All services are working hard to ensure timely referrals are adhered too however there are some delays which is out of the systems control.

That said we appreciate people sharing their experience and we can certainly share this with the team, how the wait made you feel and how we can improve communication to those waiting longer than expected.
