I recently had my annual diabetic eye test.
How I felt was why can the NHS not arrange for this annual diabetes eye test to be done by community opticians?
I already attend my local optician annually and the eye test equipment looks (to me) to be very similar to that already used by opticians, therefore why not have the necessary tests and / or photographs etc done by the community optician? I understand/ assume the optician might then simply need to send the findings and / or photos etc sent to a specialist for review, but the outcome would be to have one less annual visits to the optician.
Surely the above would just be common sense??
