"My journey of addiction"

About: Addiction services / The Asha Centre

(as a service user),

I got referred to Asha to get help, I couldn't do it on my own this is my fourth week I been clean, never thought it was possible. I have all support I need here staff is amazing an was always there an checking up on me keeping me going I now have a routine witch I never had before coming in to Asha an my eating/sleeping was not great before I came.

First week was hard, I got through it because of staff and right doctors and my routine is amazing now an my eating is so much better an am glad an am so grateful to have this opportunity meet some amazing people here. I also love morning walks, I am so much better my health and healthy habits and tools have learned to cope in here and to maintain in the outside world and the NA meetings and AA meetings so amazing.

I will take a lot with me when I leave soon, loved my time here, sad to leave but am ready to leave I would say to anyone that needs the help to come to Asha. I fit right in, felt loved and supported through the 4 weeks. Asha is the place to be, big thank you to all staff.

One thing I could recommend more activities in out free time

Dear 'flower2025'

I want to personally thank you for your very kind feedback. I am glad your experience in Asha was positive. I have shared your feedback with all staff members.

I totally accept your feedback regarding lack of activities during free time/evenings/weekends. I have since made contact with some specialist activity staff within the Western Trust with intentions of developing some further activities for our patients. We are also in the early stages of discussion with a non-statutory agency with a view of providing some personal training for patients. Currently, a member of the public is raising funds for our facility with the aim of purchasing some new gym equipment/materials for art etc.

I wish you all of the best in your sobriety and greater quality of life.
