"One amazing NHS fantastic family"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Coronary Care Unit

(as a service user),

My partner was admitted to CCU Hairmyres early June 2025 after suffering a heart attack. He was transferred from A&E and myself and his sister were met my a nurse named Stephen who showed us to the family room, made us tea and explained the procedure that my partner would go through and how long it would take, he was very reassuring.

From that moment we were made to feel at ease on the ward and the kindness and support of each member of staff was truly appreciated.  We were encouraged to ask questions, not once over my partners stay did we feel we were any bother. The ward was immaculate, I'm told by my partner the standard of food was very good. His care was first class.

I don't recall all of the nurses names unfortunately but both Stephen, Tracy and the Senior Nurse, you are all a credit to NHS Lanarkshire, as are all of your colleagues.

Thank you to the CSW's, Domestics, Porters, Admin, Consultants and Surgeons of course, one amazing NHS fantastic family.
