"My dignity was maintained at all times"

I went to have a gynae procedure as an outpatient on ward 1B at Pilgrim hospital.

I met the nurse Hannah and student nurse Shannon first for an initial talk about the procedure. Hannah was very kind and professional, she explained everything to me and made me feel safe and confident .

She checked that I understood everything and that I could stop the procedure if I needed to.

When I went into the room to have the procedure done, I was introduced to other staff, nurse Suzie and HCSW Clare. They were also very friendly and reassuring. 

My dignity was maintained at all times and the procedure was successfully completed with only slight discomfort.

Afterwards I was given an explanation of what had been done and they checked that I was feeling well before I left.

A lovely team, thank you so much, I was feeling quite apprehensive beforehand but you made it a positive experience.
