"Very happy with my treatment"

About: Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre / Minor Injuries

(as the patient),

I attended the unit following a fall in which I had hurt my wrist. The unit called and arranged an appointment which I was able to walk to as my wrist was too painful and swollen to drive. On arrival a nurse took me through to a treatment room. A few minutes later the Duty Staff Nurse came in she asked a few questions and proceeded to examine my wrist which happily wasn't broken but badly sprained.  I was given exercises to help with the healing and advice on pain relief. The staff who dealt with me were friendly and put me at ease I was very happy with my treatment.

This Unit is an extremely valuable part of our local community and as a minor injuries and illness unit it can deal with less serious patients therefore allowing the main hospital  (Ninewells) in Dundee to deal with urgent patients.

Dear Likeablebj55

Thank you for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion about your recent visit to the Minor Injuries Unit at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre. We appreciate all patient feedback as this helps to improve our service.

I am sorry to hear you had a fall resulting in a wrist injury but delighted you were put at ease and very happy with your treatment.

Nursing staff in the minor injuries service know how important it is for patients to be given advice on how to care for their injury. We also give patients worsening advice and what to do if they have any further concerns. I’m pleased to hear your wrist wasn't broken but hopefully your sprain is improving with the provide exercises.

Angus Health and Social care partnership are continually working to improve how we deliver care, including making services more locally accessible wherever we can.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Many Thanks

Rhianne Roberts
