"Long wait in Emergency Department"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

As a health care professional myself I am well aware of the struggles staff face with waiting times and staffing issues etc, but having spent 10 hours in the waiting room in daisyhill ED I would like to provide some feedback

the chairs are horrendously uncomfortable when you are waiting for hours and already in pain. There is only one plug working to charge phones beside the toilet door which people were having to take turns to use.

Also there is no access to drinks or snacks, a vending machine in the waiting room would be fabulous instead of having to get someone to walk around to main entrance.

I think improving the little things would make a huge difference

I would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by long waiting times, uncomfortable chairs and the limited access to vending machines during your visit.

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience delays, especially when there is limited options available for refreshments.

Thank you for your feedback, as its invaluable in helping us to improve our service.
