"Father's treatment & final days"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Surgery (wards 63, 64, 65, 66,& 67) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Imaging

(as a relative),

My father waited 2 years for his gallbladder removed, and after getting spasms in stomach, in early April, he phoned an ambulance, as nobody could see him,

He went to Glasgow royal infirmary, and was in 3 weeks,, before eventually getting an MRI scan. Unfortunately the results came back,as full internal cancer,,and he passed away within a week.

He was so fit & healthy,,and myself & family are so sure if he was treated before waiting 2 years, he'd still be here,, totally shocking..!!! We are all so much heart broken & trying to get answers, but we believe the NHS 2 year wait was certainly the cause.

Dear Polarisrp48

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your Father, and we extend our condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.

As Care Opinion is anonymous, we would be grateful if you could contact our Complaints Team so that we can investigate this further (ggc.complaints@nhs.scot). We will then be able to provide you with a more detailed response.

Thank you

Nicole
