I would like to compliment Mr Ibraheem and his team in general surgery in Altnagelvin. My teenage son had emergency surgery after transfer from SWAH and I cannot fault the care from start to finish.
Although he was classified as an adult, the nursing staff on ward 3 were superb with him and really kind to me as his mum. Resident doctor Hiu was so helpful and answered any queries I had to make us feel reassured at a very scary time.
Nurse Mary on the night shift was fantastic when, keeping us up to date with his prolonged stay in theatres.
I need to compliment Mr Ibraheem and his registrar - I know the surgery was extremely complicated and I really appreciate the care and attention taken to get my son through this.
A lot is said about surgery in the Western Trust currently, but our experience was second to none and it’s important that this gets recognised. Thanks again.
