"A great comfort in dark periods"

About: Doncaster - Community Nurses / Community Nursing - South

(as a carer),

My wife died in April, she had many illnesses and conditions over the past 4 years.

I am here today to compliment all the District Nurses and their colleagues, for the care, assistance and support. We had many occasions to call on the services of the District Nurses, never once were we ever let down no matter, day or night. The attention and care given showed a professionalism and pride in the service they provided that is second to none.

Care for the patient is not all that is often required, reassurance and support for the carer, I often needed reassurance to feel confident to provide the care my wife required. The last words we often heard as they left were "If you need us, you know where we are , just give us a call ". These words were a great comfort because as in many cases where long term illness occur, I and my wife had our dark periods.

So hats off to Doncaster Community Nursing South, give yourselves a pat on the back (pity its not a pay rise), I better close now or risk repeating myself. Keep the good work up, be assured it is more then appreciated.
