"Salford Meadowbrook mental health unit"

About: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

I had been varying degrees of psychotic for 2 years after my first hospitalisation for drug-induced psychosis in 2022. I was then sectioned with drug-exacerbated (“drug-induced” on record) psychosis to Salford Meadowbrook Keats Ward in January 2024.

I was discharged after a week because the Dr told my mum that eupd people shouldn’t be in hospital. Bearing in mind that “eupd” was only ever “eupd traits” and was actually ADHD. Dr justified discharging a psychotic patient based on historic traits of an incorrect diagnosis. The psychosis worsened for months before I was sectioned again for 3 months and eventually forced anti-psychotic depots against my will. I think that should the Dr have taken the time to actually assess my mental state instead of being bewitched by 4 letters, SO much harm could have been prevented.   Feel that psychiatrists should treat people not inaccurate label.
