I recently underwent a diagnostic coronanry angiogram, to investigate angina. The care I received was excellent. It is not a very comfortable procedure but everything was very well explained and the team was really expert and efficient. I felt very safe and was confident I was in the best possible hands throughout. The doctor carrying out the procedure was kind and straightforward, answered my questions clearly and told me what to expect at all stages. The painkilling local anaesthetic was actually the only bit that hurt, and even so, it wasnt that bad as the doctor was very skilled. Having a tube up your arm feels very strange but not painful. It turned out my arteries were fine, which was such a relief, and the alternative reasons for my symptoms were explained very helpfully. On the ward, the nurses all took the greatest care of us, and took time to explain everything that was going on. We had a bit of a wait, because emergency cases had to be seen first, but it was fine. The nurses were very busy but kept on top of everything brilliantly as well as being very kind and keeping everyone's spirits up with cups of tea etc. It was a strange day that I woukd rather not have had, but the team made it as easy as possible and I am very pleased with the care I received. Thank you.
"excellent care"
