"Crisis team and cmht"

About: Harrogate District Hospital / Accident and emergency Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as a service user),

I was recently under crisis team, but everytime I rang them or saw them I felt intimidated I self harm and I have suicidal thoughts but when I ring them all they say is use your coping strategies that is what they say every time witch makes u feel worse and when u ring them it's like they don't care or they try to get rid of u off the phone,

I don't phone them anymore because I am scared to

I am in process of making a complaint about how they treat people,I am getting help bye an Advocate at Cloverleaf Advocacy who deal with  nhs complaints so if anyone reads this and going threw the same please reach out to them.

The only support I am getting is from my local MIND in Harrogate and my gp who both have been amazing

And my gp has tried so hard to get me medication review with psychiatrist but all she gets is medication not the answer and use your coping strategies

Hello Wezenns74

My name is Sam Marshall and I am the Head of Patient Experience at the Trust. Firstly, I want to thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am so sorry to hear that you did not receive the support you needed during your contact with the Crisis Team and that this left you feeling uncared for and dismissed. Your feedback is very important to us as it will help us to learn and improve. Learning from our patients experience is invaluable to ensure that others do not experience the same. I am pleased to hear that you are being supported by advocacy to raise your concerns. Our PALS team can be contacted as follows:

Tel: 0800 052 5790 or Email: pals.lypft@nhs.net

Kind regards

Sam

I hear all the time that things will be improved but no learning seems to occur as it happens over and over again.

In my opinion, the crisis team needs to improve by making patients feel comfortable and important, just like any other patient.
