"A service that is second to none"

About: Fife Community Services / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS) Victoria Hospital / Radiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I must write to thank all the staff at the RCDS Unit and Radiology at Victoria Hospital for quite simply a service that is second to none. 

From the initial phone call to the blood tests, CT Scan and Endoscopy it was all so effortless.  The staff in all departments were very professional and explained everything in detail and answered any questions I had thoroughly, understanding I might be concerned. 

In a blink of an eye I was contacted, given appointments and had my results.  What a great service.

My other comment would be how caring and understanding all the staff were to the fact that I was very nervous but their great people skills made it all so calming and reassuring.

Feeling nervous and uncertain is entirely natural when facing investigations, and I’m so glad that the professionalism, warmth, and clarity of the teams helped to ease those fears.

What you describe being listened to, informed, and treated with understanding is the foundation of compassionate, equitable care.
