"Couldn't have received better care and attention"

About: Neurosciences (DCN) / Neurology Neurosciences (DCN) / Outpatients Department - OPD7

(as a service user),

I recently had a scary experience: I thought I was having a stroke. I called 111 and they told me that the Ambulance Service would be in touch. They were: 2 paramedics turned up within about 20 minutes and assessed me. They took me, by ambulance, to the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh where I was seen straight away for a stroke assessment. I saw lots of staff at the hospital, including Dr O'Connell and Stroke Nurse Practitioner, Nicole. They were both great, as was everyone who looked after me (and my partner, who was with me for the 5 hours of so we stayed, waiting for test results).

The next day, I got to see the TIA team (at the Royal Infirmary). Again, I was given great treatment by Dr Duignan and her team. The good news is that I didn't have a TIA - it was a migraine. I couldn't have received better care and attention. I am hugely grateful (and relieved).

Thank you so much for this feedback and taking time after what must have been very frightening for you all. I am pleased you are recovering well and have a bit of reassurance and are getting the treatment you require.

Thanks again and take care.

Michelle
