"Daughter getting tooth out in the Ulster Hospital"

About: North Down Community Services / Community Dental Services The Ulster Hospital / Paediatric Day Patient Ward The Ulster Hospital / Paediatric Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter who is 8 had to go to the Ulster to get teeth removed. From the moment we stepped into the hospital the staff were exceptional. Lisa met us and checked her in. She was so kind, happy and gentle. She completely put my daughter at ease. The anaesthetist (Patrick) then spoke with my daughter. Again, a lovely gentle manner. Then Pamela and the dentist  came and spoke with her. Again, excellent bedside manner. They put my daughter at ease. Indeed, the actually made her excited about the procedure. The care and diligence of the staff was first class.

The after care was also excellent. Katrina, Lisa and Sophie were fantastic.

Dear MrsWa

Thank you so much for your lovely comments about your daughter's recent procedure in our dental service.

It is always our priority to ensure patients and and their families are made to feel safe and secure; we try to take the fear out of procedures that can be scary for children. We have a very dedicated nursing and medical workforce who endeavour to deliver compassionate care at all times, and I am so glad that this was your experience.

I do hope your daughter has recovered well and that you have all had a wonderful Christmas; I wish you all the best for 2025.

Kind regards

Karen
