We arrived at the clinic and were immediately given a timetable for the process we would be going through by our care worker, Yvonne. She explained everything fully and clearly. We were early and were provided cups of tea and biscuits.
We went to the vascular clinic where my carotid arteries were scanned to detect any narrowing or blockages. Simon who did the scan was excellent. He kept us informed as to what was being done and provided a basic report of the situation.
We then returned to the TIA clinic where Yvonne explained the procedures she was going to perform, again explaining fully and clearly in a very caring and supportive manner. These were blood pressure, temperature and ECG. Blood was taken by a Doctor Ed very effectively and efficiently. We then had a detailed and consultation with a young doctor whose name I unfortunately cannot recall.
She covered all aspects of my examination and highlighted future steps in my treatment, which included a change to my medication and working with dedicated TIA nursing staff. Although we were there for a while, it was a wonderful experience and we were so grateful to receive such comprehensive and skilled treatment from such an expert and caring group of medical professionals.
"We were so grateful to receive such comprehensive and skilled treatment"
